LS Planter Cover

Bringing the principles of natural growth into daily life
The LS Planter Cover is a pot cover designed using "L-System," a generative algorithm that expresses the branching of trees and plants.

The overlapping lines are regulated yet organic and unpredictable. The form, born from an algorithm reminiscent of the plant growth process, was materialized through 3D printing.

The envelope, composed of two layers—outer and inner—creates complex depth and shadows around the pot. Instead of completely covering the pot like typical pot covers, a deliberate gap connects the plant, the vessel, and the space beyond, forming a single landscape.

When an indoor plant is placed inside, the natural form of the plant itself and the artificial structure generated by the algorithm overlap, creating a subtle accent in the space.

Four sizes, four different shapes
The LS Planter Cover is available in four sizes to suit the size of your plant and its placement.

　Size 01｜for ~2-inch pots
The smallest size in the series. Suitable for gently adding plants to small spaces such as desks, dining tables, or windowsills.
　Size 02｜for 2- to 2.5-inch pots
A compact size that is easy to place on bookshelves, display shelves, or side tables. Also recommended for combining with small houseplants or succulents.
　Size 03｜for 3- to 3.5-inch pots
The most versatile standard size in the series. Placing it on a TV stand or cabinet subtly changes the impression of your interior.
　Size 04｜for 4- to 4.5-inch pots
A size suitable for slightly larger plants. Ideal for scenarios where you want to create an impressive corner in your living room, such as on the floor or on low furniture.

Rather than simply scaling up or down, each of the four sizes applies a different algorithm. The overlap and density of lines, as well as the expression of the openings, vary by size, allowing you to enjoy a distinct personality for each even when displayed together.

Black / Light Brown
We've selected two colors that complement the green of plants and easily match various interiors.
Black creates a sharp impression that highlights the plant's form and leaf color.
Light Brown has a soft hue reminiscent of wood and soil, blending well with spaces featuring natural materials.
These colors are easy to incorporate into daily life without restricting plant types or interior styles.

Functionality integrated into the design
Beyond its form, the LS Planter Cover also incorporates functions for enjoying plants in daily life.
The bottom of the pot has a space to catch a small amount of water, and a removable honeycomb-shaped bottom plate is placed inside. Excess water from the pot drains through the plate to the bottom, ensuring that the pot base does not directly sit in water.

Additionally, the open structure created by the L-System allows air circulation while covering the pot. We aimed for both a substantial presence as a pot cover and a lightness that doesn't overly enclose the plant.
